Boxes and Butterflies

It's been a fun week so far... making boxes!
I really like making 3D projects, and some of these cute little boxes are soooo easy to make!
I think they would make awesome party bags for kids birthday parties, or just for that little gift of chocolate to make a friend's day better :) (Not quite big enough for a bottle of vodka, sorry!)

I found a simple tutorial for the above flat fold box here. It is pretty nifty because it can open up and fold flat, which is not so good for the holding of treats but very handy for transport or posting :)

This butterfly box is a 2468 box. There are *heaps* of tutorials for this one around. It's basically a 5.5" x 8.5" piece of card scored at 2", 4", 6" & 8" down the short side and 2" along the longer side. Trim at each score line along to the 2" line so you end up with 4 square flaps. Then you simply fold along the score lines, glue the bottom flaps on top of each other and glue the join together.
Simple, right? (I'm betting most people are sitting with a confused expression saying "huh?")
Ok, so I'm not gifted in the written explanation department.. give me time! I'll get better, I promise! Maybe it would be clearer with some pics...

So there you have it. That clears everything up. Maybe, hopefully, sort of. If it doesn't, feel free to let me know and give me some pointers on how it could be made clearer. I take constructive criticism very well.. really, I do :)

Pop Up Owls!

I just made a very cute pop up card for a 5 year old's birthday using the 2 step Owl punch.

It was so easy to make, especially with this awesome video tutorial from DarleneDesign.
I can't wait to get a few more stamps and punches from SU to make it look the way I really want it to :)

First Make & Take

I think this is what I will do for my first make & take workshop.
It's pretty simple and easy and everything is from the starter kit. I should hopefully be getting the butterfly punch soon, so that would make the butterfly cut out a bit neater. If you would like to come along to my first workshop (currently scheduled for August 17th), just let me know! :)

Card: Whisper White, Real Red, Daffodil Delight DSP
Ink: Real Red, Basic Black
Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly
Other: White satin ribbon, Daffodil Delight Marker

Ta-Da!

My Started Kit arrived!! It came yesterday and I had so much fun unpacking everything and trying it out. I even dragged a friend out in the freezing cold last night so I could make her go "ooohhh" and "aaahh" over it with me :) This is the very first card I have made using my very own SU products

Card: Whisper White, Old Olive, Basic Black
Ink: VersaMark, Pumpkin Pie
Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly, Funky Forest wheel
Other: Satin ribbon, 2 Step Owl Punch

I am very much in love with my 2-step Owl Punch. He is so cute! Feel free to leave him some comments on how adorable he is. We wouldn't want him getting a complex, now would we? ;)

Anyway, I must now return to my next project.. my very first workshop Make & Take idea! Stay tuned to see what it is, and how it could be yours!

First!

A big "Hi there and Hello" to anyone who has stumbled across my brand, spanking new blog! I have launched this blog to announce the exciting news that I have recently become an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. So from now on, everyone in the world (well, only Australia actually) has to come to me for their wonderful Stampin' Up! products. I mean *everyone*, no exceptions! Oh, alright. I admit that getting everyone in Australia to buy from me may be slightly too high a goal... at least for now... I will reluctantly settle for a few customers, just to start me off :)

I will hopefully receive my starter kit early next week, and I can't wait to start creating awesome cards! Some of which will hopefully end up here so you can see how awesome the SU products are... and buy some :)
This is what it should look like:

Anyway, enough for now. I need to let my darling husband fix some of the geeky, computery, internety stuff for me...

ttfn!
